A buyer is trying to understand what can continue after the transaction and which assumptions need verification. Questions may concern finances, contracts, operations, people, ownership and other matters relevant to the agreed scope.
A question is not necessarily an accusation. Define the assessment's boundaries, organise responsibilities for responses and identify information that remains uncertain. Findings can have different consequences for structure, terms or the decision to proceed. Due diligence improves the information available; it does not replace the parties' judgement or guarantee a successful transaction.
